Responded To A Craigslist Ad
I responded to a Craigslist ad about going diving with a group, and what do you know. No respond back. I'm telling you, that you'll never connect with these people. People talk, but nothing happens. That's why I made this blog. It's a better hook up!

What A Dive Today!
I was diving in Bodega today. As I was driving, I notice that conditions in Bodega was ok. So, I decided to give it a shot. I might get skunk, but I doubt it!
As I swam out to the mini-islands, I noticed that the water is nice and blue. When I arrived at the islands, I went down for my first dive. MAN! What a high! The water was crystal clear and I can see everything. Usually, I can't see much. Just getting 6-8 foot viz, is good already for Bodega.
To make this story short, I did it in only 6 dive, which is very rare in Bodega, and was finished in less than 45 min. including dressing, undressing, and catching my 3 Abs. That was the quickest, I ever caught my limit in Bodega. Usually, it's about hunting for them, and in bad viz to murky water, which makes it tough.
My friend, asked me Why????? I told him that I get a kick out of hunting for them. Not like up north, Where it's Abalone Heaven up there. If you can't get your limit there, something's wrong.
Anyway, the season is dwinding down, and I have only a few more punches left on my AB card. I'll have to pick a really nice day, with good conditions to dive and not dive on impulse alone.
Have a safe dive and day!

What Is A Bad Day For Divers?
All the things you think is bad isn't bad at all, not getting your limits, getting sea sick, getting rescue, getting a ticket from CHP, Fish & Game Warden, Sheriff, Parking without paying is nothing.
A bad day is when your taken to the hospital or R.I.P.! That's a bad day!
So, as long as you're not the 2 above. You're having a good day, and enjoy yourself & your dive buddy. Evenually, you'll get your limits, one of these days. We all do, lol! ; )
Have a safe dive and remember to enjoy,

A Bad Diving Day For Any Divers!
This is one of my worst dive of my life. I dove in Murky water, red tides, and coffee like water. This is bad, and I didn't bring my flashlight.
Most of the divers went to Fort Ross. My friend, who's a very good diver, didn't get any abs, and getting skunk is rare with him.
I was diving in Horseshoe cove. I was able to get my limit, but I really, really worked. I spend 2 hours to catch them. There was 1/2 feet to 1 feet visibity, if you're lucky.
Basically, you have to dive down, and hit the right spot to be successful, and if you don't, then you keep trying until you do. I had to dive straight down, until I hit the bottom, and then I had to feel for the abs. You can't see anything, except seaweeds & kelps obstructing your view, which makes it difficult to want to stay down. I tell everyone, that is reading this blog, it's dark and not fun at.
My recommendation is try another day. The abalones are not going anywhere. They'll still be there another day. Dive on a better day with good weather.
Take care, and Dive Safety!

There Are No Secret Diving Spots
I've been through it all: the long hike to the long climbs up the hills. Climbing 200 ft-1,000 ft. Diving off a boat, jet ski. Of all of them, I,Just rather swim. I've almost done it all.
I believe there are no secret diving spots. Why? B/c anytime anyone can drive or have access to.They can drive into the site and go diving. All you have to do is go on the weekends and watch all the weekend diver park where they are going to go Ab diving at. All you have to do is follow them.
Yes, you might not be able to dive at their level, but you can maybe diving closer to the shallow area to be safe and get your abalones.

Found A New Diving Spot
Finallly, finally, finally, I able to go Abalone diving!
We went diving on sunday and found a new diving spot in Mendocino. This is a little exclusive beach. Later, we learned that this is a public beach.
There was no Abalone in front of the beach, so we swam north a little then, we dove and dove. Not much was happening, until we hit one. It was spotty, but we were able to get our limits. They were pretty thick, but lack the 9"+ quality. Most of our abalones were close to 9", which was okay by my diving partner standards. He would have taken 8", if he could. Me, I'm really interested or excited by a 10"+. Maybe, b/c I'm not willing to work at it? : (
